In the 70s Matuschka modeled for Fabrizio Gianni in Italy, Christian Dior in France and Scott Barrie in N.Y.C. to name a few. She was also the house model for The House of Julio and worked with the great courtier designer --- Charles James--- until his death in 1978. Through the 70s and 80s Matuschka apprenticed with Town & Country / Harper's Bazaar photographer Bill Silano and Don Snyder. her experience as a photographic assistant and model was essential to her development as a photographer: her self-portraits would later be published on twenty-two covers worldwide.
